A few days ago left some doubts that we had on the work of the main operators in emerging countries, thanks to the interview conceded by José Manuel Sedes, of Vodafone. Today we continue adding initiatives to the cause, this time from the hand of Orange.

Orange has been associated with the Wikimedia Foundation to provide free access to Wikipedia to more than 70 million customers. That the operator has in the African continent and East Middle.

It is news that we like to share with you on our page, since the distribution of knowledge is always welcome, especially in countries with problems of access to it. You can access Wikipedia through the browser and a Widget all those possessing an Orange SIM.

This initiative will be running gradually during 2012, over 20 African countries and Middle East, and that will start this month of January. The Wikimedia Foundation has found a good partner in Orange to continue expanding its mobile strategy.

We remind you that a few days ago was presented the Android version of the application that opens the doors of Wikipedia.
